Counselling during Lockdown

Aggiornamento: 13 gen 2021

Did you know that the British Red Cross during the pandemic installed a telephone line run by volunteers and experts, ready to talk to anyone who needs to vent? Let me tell you about it!

First of all, good evening to everyone and welcome back to our blog!

Today, I’m going to talk to you about the telephone support line that was inaugurated by the British Red Cross during the pandemic.

If you have already taken a look at our website, you have for sure come across this topic.

Since this is only our third post, you still haven’t had a chance to get to know us properly, so you definitely didn't know yet that I’m passionate about psychology.

Indeed, I am. I love reading people's mind, and I also believe to have a kind of natural gift for understanding them. Looking at a person, I can understand in a more or less concrete way, the identity of him/her.

The fact is, that my ability to intuit and understand people has always fascinated me to deep, sincere and stimulating conversations with people.

What do I consider stimulating? With this term I intend to specify having a conversation without filters, pure; and in my opinion, there is no conversation with less filters than an intimate interview with a counsellor / psychologist.

That’s why this news immediately caught my attention.

I think it’s wonderful to be present in people’s difficult moments, and to be able to help them get better.

I can only imagine how authentic the telephone conversations which the volunteers of the British Red Cross are currently running, and how open-hearted the people who are calling, must be.

I wish I could help them, I would love to hear such testimonies. To see someone express their emotions in the most genuine way possible.

Personally, this generation, has always seemed to me, full of facades and fiction, but I believe that in times of difficulty, the masks we wear every day, fall. Just as we drop the filters, if you pay attention you can observe the truth, and mirror yourself in the soul of a person.

This concept is quite complex to explain, but I also instill psychology is this: to make sense of the senseless.

However, trust me, listening (deeply and meticulously) to a person speaking with an open heart is striking. 'Try to believe'.

I hope that the experts in charge of answering these calls, will think of it in a similar way to mine, and that they will take every interview as an opportunity to know the sensitivity of people, and to understand slowly the thousand facets of the human mind.

Similarly, I hope that these consultations will actually help. But given the excellent work that the British Red Cross has done at this time, I am not in any doubt about that.

After this strange personal reflection, which I have tried to convert into simple words, I hope that it is clear to you how fascinating and relevant a genuine conversation actually is.

Besides, I hope you appreciate this as much as I did. The British Red Cross is, in a sense, a guarantee right now. Precisely because it is run by people who are kind and eager to help, who always manage to leave their patients in a situation of well-being.

Which is extraordinary from my point of view.

That's why, I reiterate how important it's for us to support them for once.

Therefore people, I’m encouraging you again to donate (click here) - any amount of money will be appreciated.

Finally, I hope I didn’t confuse you too much during this article, I swear I tried to explain myself as much as possible.

If you liked this article, please, leave a comment expressing your views and any doubts you might have, me, Sara and Anna would read them with pleasure.
